The Engineering Materials Development Institute (EMDI) Akure on 7th June 2024 marked a significant milestone as its Management and Staff gathered to commemorate the first anniversary of Alhaja (Mrs.) Fausat Olumide Yusuf MNIM, MBA, as Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive.

The ceremony, themed “Celebrating Innovation and Excellence: One Year of Dynamic Leadership and Impact,” commenced at 10:16am with the national anthem, followed by a poignant citation of Alhaja (Mrs.) Fausat Olumide Yusuf MNIM, MBA, delivered by Mr. Olusegun Okusanya C. Mgr (CIM) of the Information, New Media and Protocol Unit. The citation highlighted her educational journey, career progression and remarkable achievements. In her keynote address, the Ag-MD/CE reflected on the Institute’s progress, stating, “Over the past 365 days, we have not only sustained momentum but accelerated it, pushing boundaries and yielding remarkable achievements.” She emphasized the importance of strategic collaboration and unwavering focus in turning potential into reality.

The Ag-MD/CE expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the chairman of the NASENI Governing Board, the EVC/CEO of the Agency (Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu), her dynamic management team, and staff of EMDI.

A comprehensive PowerPoint presentation expertly delivered by Dr. Kingsley Ukoba of Design, Modelling and Simulation Unit showcased the Ag-MD/CE’s achievements, followed by comments and goodwill messages from heads of department and unit, labour union leaders, Corp members, Interns, and the cleaning services supervisor. The labour union leaders, Comrade Olajide Ebenezer Adeleye (NASU Branch Chairman) and Comrade Tope Olorunsola (Branch Secretary of TSAN), commended the Ag-MD/CE for her exemplary leadership and commitment to staff welfare.

A special prayer session was held in honour of Alhaja (Mrs.) Fausat Olumide Yusuf MNIM, MBA, led by Engr. Auwalu Abdulkarim of Manufacturing Services Department and Pastor Adebola Ifejola Adewale of Technology Business Development Department, with a gift presentation by the Muslim community.

The event also featured the official opening of the Institute’s sports activities, with state-of-the-art equipment commissioned for staff fitness and well-being. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Engr. John Olowonubi of Design, Modelling and Simulation Unit, the national anthem, and a group photograph at exactly 12:57pm.
