The Engineering Materials Development Institute (EMDI) hosted a courtesy visit from the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) on Tuesday, 15th October, 2024. The distinguished visitors were warmly welcomed by the Overseeing Officer, Mrs. Fausat Olumide YUSUF, MNIM, MBA and her management team in the Chief Executive Officer’s Conference Room. “In line with our mandate, EMDI remains committed to advancing the development and progress of engineering professionals,” Mrs. Yusuf said in her welcome address. “We value the contributions of APWEN and look forward to continued collaboration”. The APWEN delegation, led by their Chairperson, Engr. Adenike Obakoyowa reciprocated the warm welcome, thanking Mrs. F. O Yusuf and her team for their hospitality. The Chairperson also highlighted the upcoming Association Investiture and extended an invitation to EMDI specifically the Institute’s Overseeing Officer to participate in the event. As a token of their appreciation for Mrs. Yusuf ‘s exceptional leadership and dedication to the engineering profession, APWEN presented her with a commemorative plaque for her commitment and dedication to the Engineering Mandate. Following the formal exchange, the visitors embarked on a guided tour of EMDI’s facilities, including the Foundry Workshop, Research and Development Department Laboratories, and the Manufacturing Workshop. The visit concluded with a group photograph and the presentation of souvenirs to the APWEN executives by the Overseeing Officer of EMDI.
